This Pokhara- Dhampus- Sarangkot trek strats from the Phedi. Its 7-8
hours drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara; and the 45 minutes drive from
Pokhara. This Dhampus Sarankot trek is also known as the alternative
trek for Annapurna view trek. It is trouble free and the walk is easy
and comfortable through the middle hills of Nepal. We travel around the
local culture and custom, fascinating Pokhara valley and the
snow-capped white Himalayan peaks.
Pokhara is one of the most delightful valleys of Himalayas which offers impressive panoramic view of the surrounding. Besides the snow-capped mountains, other attractions are Fewa, Begnas and Rupa Lake. You can also see the waterfalls, cave, White Water Rivers. In addition, culture, religious temples and the monastery are equally fascinating.
Sarangkot's altitude is 1592 Meters above sea level and views take in Pokhara, the greater Pokhara Valley and beyond to the main Annapurna ranges peaks. Annapurna South 7195, Annapurna I 7647, Machhapuchure 6997, Annapurna III 7555, Annapurna II 7937, Annapurna IV 7525, Lamjung Himal 6986. Pokhara Valley lies alongside the Annapurna Range.
There is a village just below the ridge, but a set of steps leads uphill to a dramatic viewpoint in the ruins of an ancient kot (hill fort). It is currently occupied by the army, but photography is fine, as long as you don't take pictures of the soldiers
